It’s not very often that I struggle with a set of 3d illustrations, but it happens from time to time. And I hate it. Immensely. You see, producing stock illustrations and renderings is what I do to fill in the cracks in my day, and I enjoy pushing myself creatively and building my archives. But when things aren’t clicking and I waste hours trying to produce something interesting (without success), the frustration sets in hard.
Case in point is this small set of stock illustrations featuring the Tesla Automotive logo. I should mention that I’m a big fan of Tesla and what they are doing – enough so that I’ve put my money where my mouth is and have recently become a shareholder. Yeah, I think this is a really interesting company.
Anyway, no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t come up with a 3d version of their logo that I was happy with. I wanted to create a set of stock illustrations that blog and article writers could publish with their work, focusing primarily on the technology and engineering aspects of the company. But…I…just…couldn’t….get them right. I’m not sure, but perhaps my expectations were too high.
In a fit of defeated frustration, I’m offering these images here for free. I have no desire to work through the problems I had with these, so please take them and use them however you wish.
